Scrapbooking

Yesterday I travelled down to Scrapbook Magic for the monthly scrapbooking class.  Slight delays with diversions due to road works and traffic light in place for a collapsed drain but undeterred I still managed to get there to join in the fun.

I remembered as I took a photo of the solitary layout I completed yesterday that I hadn't posted the second layout from last months class so I will show you that one first.

Here is the one I did yesterday which shows photos of how Ernesettle Creek used to have a large mill but sadly in today's photos this is no more but its still a lovely place to stand and stare.

On a roll

I seem to be on a bit of a scrap roll at the moment.  These are scraps from just one of the boxes of scraps I am trying to work my way through.  I've used another Mojo Monday sketch #479 this time.  I'm trying to work through their 2017 sketches with the aim of using two a week to bring me up to date with their weekly challenges for this year.  This should also build up my stock of cards should the momentum come to an end.

I've used a couple of stamps from the SU Painter's Palette set this time.

Sketch Saturday

I'm on a mission to use up my box of scraps again!  I've used Sketch Saturday's sketch #455 and managed to make three simple cards with one of the sentiments from my recently acquired SU stamp set called Big on Birthdays.  I bought as it has four large sentiment stamps along with smaller ones.  I thought it would be a perfect way of making quick and simple cards as well as making a small dent in the scraps pile.  Making the sentiment the focal point means I can use up the mish mash of patterned paper scraps I have far easier.

1 sketch, 3 scraps and 3 different occasions

I needed an anniversary card for mum and dad today, not an easy card to make as their marriage is more one of tolerance of each other rather than of mutual respect and love.  I decided to use a Mojo Monday sketch #478 and picked out three scraps of paper and challenged myself to make three different occasion cards.

For mum and dad I kept the greeting simple but expressed my love for them instead on their wedding anniversary 61 years today.

Stash enhancement

I received a lovely box of mixed media embellishments this week from Artful Days.  It's a monthly kit which has a theme each month, this month it was Going Around and has lots of circular embellishments as well as some paints and a ruler with circles of various sizes cut out in the middle of the ruler.

There are 18 delightful packages included in this kit and they came beautifully wrapped in circle tissue paper which I will also use.

Seasonal cards

Over the past couple of weeks I have been making a few Mother's Day cards to go to into the basket of cards held at Vintage Brew.  I forgot to take photos of the first two sets I made but these are the latest ones I  have made.  I've made one as a Mother's Day card and another as a birthday card.

The flower stamps are from a set I bought from Clearly Besotted a long time ago and I've used them lots, one of my favourite sets which also has the matching die.  I love colouring in the flowers.  Sentiments are from a variety of SU stamps sets and one from Avocado Arts.

Stitching update

It's been a while I know since I posted any progress on the stag stitching.  I am over the half way mark now and working on the background area of the picture.  I'm leaving the stitching of the stag until last which hopefully won't be much longer.  The past week or so I haven't had much time to devote to this or any other crafting.  I hope you enjoy this latest update.
