2. Journal 52's prompt for week 3 was your favourite David Bowie song/lyrics.  We have several of David Bowie's albums in our music collection but I don't think I have a particular favourite so I decided to just create a page dedicated to this amazing pop icon.

At the weekend my mum gave me a supplement devoted to David Bowie that came with one of the weekends newspapers.  Initially I scribbled onto the journal with some colour from my watercolour pencils to create the coloured background.  I then made the mistake of using texture paste with a star stencil before I really knew where I was going with the page.  In my mind I knew I was going to use some lyrics from the track Jene Genie from the Starman album - hence using the star stencil and then add images from the magazine.  I should have done it the other way round so that the images were being adhered onto a smooth surface.  A lesson learned but then I am pretty knew to this journalling adventure so I'm forgiving myself.  Then I thought the lyrics that I had chosen were even more appropriate to the page - 'let yourself go'.

I've also used a mixture of watercolours, Wink of Stella and one of my newly acquired (see Wednesdays post) gel pens.  All in all I'm pretty happy with my collage journal page.  I wonder what this weeks prompt will challenge me to create.
