Happy New Year

I decided to start the New Year setting up a new blog, a fresh start as in the quote above.  If you have come over from my old blog to follow me thank you for coming to join me on my new journey of discovery.  If you have come across my blog by chance then welcome and I hope you will enjoy visiting.

I don't actually make New Years resolutions anymore but I do have lots of objectives this year which i hope I will achieve by starting afresh.  I have decided I am no longer going to set targets, as it invariably leads to self imposed pressure and often failure leaving me feel dispirited. I will certainly aim to complete all that I start his year but no deadlines are going to be set and if I abandon a project I'm not going to torture myself over it. - I want to enjoy the crafting and learning process.

I have been gathering ideas for creative outlets over the past few months and will share them with you throughout the course of the year.  .

While this post is all about new starts I still have many projects from previous years that I am going to endeavor to finish this year too.  Lists. lists and more lists I feel are going to be key for me along with plenty of fun and recreational  planning to make the process enjoyable too.

My first project for the year is to transform this address index folder into a 5 year journal.  The idea behind this came from a blog post by Tami Taylor on the Get it Scrapped blog.  A simple concept which can be done using either the prompts provided or your own ideas.  For the most part I think I will use the suggested prompts with the occasional  adaptation if needed.
The tabs at the top of the dividers I will label with the months of the year and I will also have to make a few more cards to go into the tray they are standing in as at the moment I think there are only 200 in the box.  At the front of the tray there is a piece of card that can be removed to accommodate more cards.

I will use up the many scraps of pretty paper I have to decorate the cards and then add the answers to the journal prompts.  I can use both sides of each for the same date each year.  The index cards are approximately ATC size so the whole project will only take up a small amount of space on my craft table.  As it will only take up a small amount of space it means I can leave it out and in view all the time and this will make it easier to work on every day..

Todays journal prompt is What is your number one goal this year?

My answer - To be more creative but without imposing pressure upon myself so that I can actually enjoy the process.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
