First full day

On the Thursday which was our first full day on the Isle of Man we had the first of our planned excursions.  We took the horse tram from our hotel The Claremont to the Electric Railway.

Getting in and out of the trams was not always easy but always a nice leisurely way to travel.

We caught the Electric Railway tram to Laxey and then caught the Snaefell tram up to the top of Snaefell.  There was a recorded tour commentary while on the tram, when we left Laxey it was glorious sunshine but as we went up the mountain a mist descended around us.  The commentary kept pointing out various features of which we could see none of which was amusing but also frustrating.

It was quite cold and windy at the top something I had not been prepared for. Can't  get this one to stay the right way round.

Thankfully there was a cafe at the top where we enjoyed a nice hot drink.

Once we got back down the hill it was bright sunshine once more.

We explored the Great Wheel at Laxey and the small village where there was a small woollen mill.

Again this one won't stay rotated.

Beautiful views from the top of the wheel.

It's a beautiful village and somewhere we visited again later.

No stitching last week on Throwback Thursday as my large WIPs were not travel friendly.  I have picked up the Four Horses of Apocolypse today.  This is where it was when I left it many years ago.

Yesterday I managed to finish my first Halloween stitch.

I also added three more rows to my corner to corner blanket.

What great photos, I did have a smile over the mist... I can imagine it was a bit odd going from sunshine up to cold misty weather. You can see why people get in trouble on mountains being caught out.

You look AMAZING my friend such a lovely photo, even if you are on the side.

Enjoying your holiday very much !

Yea on finishing Halloween, it's cute. The horses look like they'll keep you busy, they're beautiful so far.
