Carnival queen attendant

Not me but our gorgeous granddaughter Elisha.  MIL and myself caught the train out to Bere Alston to enjoy the carnival but most importantly to see Elisha all dressed up as one of the carnival queen attendants.

They also had various awards for floats and walkers and Connor got
a 3rd place certificate for dressing up as a Transformer.

The procession was led by the village fire engine and behind them were the bagpipe players and then the carnival queen float followed by various other floats and tractors.  It's lovely to see village traditions being carried on and our family being part of that.  It's something many of the town's and city's sadly do not follow suit with - one of the wonderful aspects of village life.

Anniversary card

Another year of wedded bliss has flown by for us tomorrow.  DH is away at the moment but thankfully is back for our anniversary tomorrow and we will be going out for a meal to celebrate.  With him being away it has been easier to make his card without fear of him seein it before the day.

Poor photography I'm afraid but I've created this card using stamps, dies and embossing folder all from my SU stash collection.  Kept it fairly simple but I really like the white and Kraft card together and the embossing folder is just gorgeous - lots of tiny hearts.

Easter celebrations

I hope you have all managed to enjoy the Easter weekend.  There has been lots to celebrate this weekend for us.  Firstly the flooring finally got put down in the lounge on Friday.   DH and No2 son spent all day Friday doing that and while I'm biased I love the look of it.

Saturday we celebrated our eldest grandsons birthday, Connor has now reached double figures - I really cant believe ten years have gone by already.

His Auntie Claire made him this fabulous cake.

We managed to get out in the garden and do some tidying up out there.  Our lilac bush is looking very pretty at the moment.

Finally I put the last few stitches into the stag cross stitch so it is now ready to be taken to be framed which won't be until next Monday.

Now to decide what to work on next.

Closing in

I'm close to finishing the stag just a small amount of background, another eye and a little of the face to complete.  Fingers crossed I can get it completed by or over the Easter weekend.

Once it's finished I need to work on a WIP before I allow myself any new stitching lol.

Easter card request

I was asked to make an Easter card for someone to send to their mum and this is the card I made.

I used a Spellbinder die for the background and place some pale blue paper behind the cut out area.  The cross was made using an SU background stamp and I used one of the dies from the Swirly Scribbles die set also from SU.  The flower border is a Sheena Douglass die which I coloured with my Copics.  The sentiment is also from SU along with the Bitty Banner die.  I think I will repeat this design for our parents as I love how it turned out.

A stitching update.

I'm still trying hard to complete the stag stitching hopefully it won't take much longer to complete.  While I may have been working on other craft projects I am managing to stick with the solo stitching which is pretty amazing for me.

The weekend was busy with the craft fayre - we all made some sales and had a fun couple of days.

Last week we found out that we will be having another grandson join the family in August - the girls really are being outnumbered now.

I have been able to drop another day at work so down to a two day week for me which is really nice.  Monday is now going to be my day to do some decluttering of my craft stash every week. Today I finally got round to putting my dies into their magnetic folders which I'd bought ages ago, which meant I was able to get rid of lots of packaging.  Normally I would keep the packaging but I really need to learn to let it go more easily.  Next week I will begin the task of going through my paper stash again  - that will be harder to let go lol.
