Round up July and August's objectives

August was originally Sextilis, the sixth month in the Roman calendar and consisted of 31 days. It became the eighth month with a length of 29 days around 700 BC when January and February were added to the year. Julius Caesar added two days to the month around 45 BCE. It was later renamed to honor Augustus Caesar in 8 BC.

July's objectives
1. Landscape 300 stitches per week -EXCEEDED TARGET WITH 1598 STITCHES
2. Joyful World SAL July - COMPLETED
3. Cross Stitcher SAL Part 4 -COMPLETED
4. Gift Stitch #5 - COMPLETED BUTTERFLY AND FRAMED
5. Christmas gift stitch #1 - NOT DONE

AUGUSTS OBJECTIVES
1.  LANDSCAPE 300 STITCHES PER WEEK
2.  JOYFUL WORLD SAL AUGUST
3.  CROSS STITCHER SAL
4.  FINISH MAGAZINE COVER STITCH
5.  CHRISTMAS DECORATION

Also for the month of August I want to make something each week using one of the many challenge blogs out there, either cards, scrapbooking, ATC, altered art or tag.  So to kick off this month this weeks offering is a card I made using the sketch from Mojo Monday.

I've used the emboss resist technique to create my background trying to create an ombre effect with Tim Holtz Distress Inks.  The boat is a Dixie die, the waves are SU and the clouds I can't  remember which company they came from.  The sentiment is from SU.  I added some irridiscent embossing powder to the waves, not sure if that shown up in the photo or not.  I've sort of flipped the sketch so my sentiment is on the opposite side to work with the image I was using.

I'm  going down to Scrapbook Magic today for a workshop and then to Moyas for an evening of crafting with the girls.

Congratulations on meeting all those targets of yours Linda! I'm very poor at achieving my aims . . . I start with good intentions! Love your take on the Mojo sketch, cute boat and I love the background you created! See you later! Have a good day! Hazel xx
