Yay -double celebration

Little children, sweet and lovely
      Buds from Heaven sent to earth!
      Let us love them, teach them, guide them,
      Fill their lives with joy and mirth...
Looking up with eyes of laughter,
      Holding out their tiny hands;
      Bless these little ones, oh, Master!
      Precious children of all lands!
~Gertrude Tooley Buckingham, "Little Children" (1940s)

Although it was Harlee-Jay's birthday on Thursday he had his birthday party yesterday and enjoyed some fun with his cousin's and a few of his baby and toddler friends.

Lots of food for children including jelly and ice cream and some gorgeous cup cakes that Harlee-Jay thoroughly enjoyed.  Waiting patiently for cake to arrive.

I think the wait was worth it.

The double celebration is because I have my second finish for May.  I've  finished the 2nd gift stitch, the cute bookmark with all the puppy dogs up the right way to me.  I hope the recipient will like it as much as I do.

I will probably 'finish' this bookmark by adding some co-ordinating felt to the back to cover the stitching behind.  I just can't  make up my I mind whether to use purple or blue felt
